The former Smog Check Bill - SB 435 has passed out of the Assembly today, 8/18/2010.  

SB 435 has gone through some major modifications since ABATE of California first began to fight it, and has been stripped of all the "Smog Check" language, but this bill is still a major concern for All Motorcyclists.  

The bills author, Senator Fran Pavley, amended SB 435 into an EPA Noise Label Match-Up bill, and in it's current form, SB 435 will affect Motorcycles and after-market exhaust manufactured on or after 1/1/2013.

ABATE of California continues to work hard for your rights as Motorcyclists, and was able to lobby to effectively remove the most unfriendly and anti-motorcycle language from the bill.
